In these days of deep divisions within our culture, how does the Church leader, Catholic school teacher, lay ecclesial minister, etc. dialogue with others whose world view is very different?  How do we engage others in ways that will allow us to stand firm in our faith yet not contribute to the widening divisions within our society?  Is this goal even possible?  We will explore the possibilities.

In a world facing so much violence and division, solutions are very hard to come by.  And while the church may not have every answer, we do have a vision and a wisdom tradition that does point the way for transforming our world.  That wisdom is our heritage of Catholic Social Teaching, sometimes referred to as our best kept secret. We need to get that secret out, starting with our own faith community- adults, children, and youth.

Why is the Blessed Mother so important to Catholics?  This class will explore the development of Marian theology from Scripture and Tradition, the various titles given to Mary, and the major Marian feasts of the liturgical year.

Sacred Scripture and the End Times: How the Catholic Church Understands the Final Things- Death, Resurrection, Second Coming, Heaven, and Hell
