We all matter! Human life and dignity 101.  The whole of the Church’s Catholic Social Teaching develops from the principle that affirms the inviolable dignity of the human person. All human beings are made in the image of God and bear the mark of our Creator and are deserving of the utmost reverence and respect. This includes the weakest and most vulnerable among us… the sick, the old, the unborn, the materially poor, prisoners, human trafficked victims, and migrants, to name a few.

This class will explore how both Catholic Social Teaching and our Moral theology shapes our individual and communal responses to the issues of our day that affect the life and dignity of women, men, and children, as well as the earth itself.

This course is designed to be a thorough overview of the two Sacraments of Commitment, Marriage and Holy Orders, beginning with their establishment by Jesus Christ, and from there moving into an in-depth presentation on the theology of each one through the lens of “Service”.

There will be a video component of the presentation taken from the “Joined By Grace” marriage preparation program, and an engaging question and answer portion designed to illustrate and “make real” how these powerful sacraments are seen and understood in our lives today.
