Statistical studies confirm that one of the leading causes of young people leaving he church is the idea that science and religion are incompatible. This tells us that as Catholics we aren’t doing our job in doing justice to the church’s long relationship with science. Using the complexity of Galileo’s life and case, and the development of astronomy, astrophysics and life sciences, Fr. Meiman will discuss how science has always been a part of the Christian world view, and that relationship has developed significantly across the centuries.
