Faith Club/Adults with Disabilities

What is Faith Club?

The Archdiocesan Faith Club exist to meet the catechetical needs of adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities.  The Office of Faith Formation for the Archdiocese of Louisville sponsors these clubs.  Consultants from the office work with the club facilitators to nurture faith formation and provide a social environment at meetings.

Who are the members?

Faith Club members are 18 years of age or older. All interested adults are welcomed.

When and where do the clubs meet?

The clubs currently meet monthly at Ascension, Flaget Center, Our Lady of Lourdes, and St. Francis of Assisi (in Louisville). Meetings are held in the evenings, usually from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, September through June.

Is there a cost?

The parishes to which the Faith Club members belong contribute a set fee to help support the clubs.  Members are asked to pay a nominal sum each year to defray the cost of refreshments and materials.  They also pay a small fee to attend some of the special events.

What happens at the meetings?

Faith Club members learn more about their Catholic faith, make new friends, socialize, and engage in service activities.  There are three large group events during the year at which the individual clubs come together:

A CHRISTMAS DINNER and DANCE

A LENTEN RETREAT DAY

An End-of-Year CELEBRATION
