Faith Club Christmas Party 2023

Over 100 people enjoyed the Faith Club Christmas Party this year! Prayers and Christmas carols were led by Santa himself (Jeff Wright)! Everyone shared a delicious dinner catered by Huber’s, and then danced the night away. One of our Faith Club members (Joey) even made gifts for everyone! This is a yearly tradition for him and reminds us of Jesus’ unconditional love for us. We currently have Faith Clubs for our adults with disabilities meeting at Ascension, Our Lady of Lourdes, Flaget, St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Thomas in Bardstown. The Christmas Party is one of three much-anticipated events we sponsor to bring everyone together!  Please contact us if you have a potential member or if you would like to get involved. We love our Faith Club members and leaders!

Among the legends of Christmastime, stories of St. Nicholas stand out and are popular especially among our Germanic and Italian communities. With the sense of his knowing the needs of persons and doing secret things to help them, delightful customs arise. In our family home back in the Midwest, two favorites stay in my memory. Renewing Our Relationship with the Eucharist

Father Timothy Radcliffe showed at the synod: It takes a Dominican preacher to explain a Jesuit pope

“We are gathered here because we are not united in heart and mind,” he said. “The vast majority of people who have taken part in the synodal process have been surprised by joy. For many, it is the first time that the Church has invited them to speak of their faith and hope. But some of us are afraid of this journey and of what lies ahead. Some hope that the Church will be dramatically changed, that we shall take radical decisions, for example about the role of women in the Church. Others are afraid of exactly these same changes and fear that they will only lead to division, even schism.”
