Archbishop Kurtz Calls for Day of Prayer
Archbishop Joseph Kurtz of Louisville, the President of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (www.usccb.org), has joined Pope Francis and the Office for the Synod of Bishops in calling for a universal day of prayer, on September 28, for the upcoming Synod on the Family.
This extraordinary Synod will take place on October 5-19 at the Vatican.
Archbishop Kurtz, the head of the Archdiocese of Louisville, Ky., has called the meeting in Rome “an important moment for the church and for families.”

On Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, our annual Faith Formation Celebration will be held at the Flaget Center at 6:30 PM. At this event we recognize the achievements of those who have continued or completed formation in a variety of areas.
Congratulations to all those who will be recognized at this event!
And thank you to all catechists and other ministers who work in and for our parishes.
Workshop for Catechists (Parish and Schools) — Oct. 25, 2014
RECONCILIATION: TEACHING ABOUT GOD’S GIFT OF FORGIVENESS
On Oct, 25, 2014 the Office of Lifelong Formation and Education will host a workshop with guest speaker Nancy Bird. This workshop will give participants insights regarding the nature of sin and reconciliation, forgiveness, and God’s boundless mercy.
Invite all your catechists and religion teachers to this even — at St. Agnes Parish Center, 9 AM – 1 PM. The fee is $15 (includes snacks and beverages).
